FRENCH ESSENTIALS includes all the important elements of learning a second language - listening, speaking, reading and writing.  And it is laid out in a way that makes sense to the student, getting them thoroughly familiar with spoken French, but also building a usable vocabulary, with English translations so the children are not trying to "deduce" the meaning  of words (which they will often guess incorrectly!)  The students KNOW what they are saying and writing, and this is extremely important in building confidence in a second language. In my estimation, as a French major and homeschool teacher for 24 years, this is the best French program on the market.

Finally a French home schooling course that goes at a pace anyone can handle... Since the building block approach is the method, that means being sure the lesson is completely mastered before the next one begins. You can have the confidence that you invested wisely with your home school and your time. Mom, Dad or an older sibling can tutor a student because this home school French curriculum is clearly laid out and easy to follow. Just the flexibility home schooling families are looking for.

FRENCH ESSENTIALS is an excellent program to introduce your child to the basics of the French language from home. It is clear, easy to use and will help to build your child’s self confidence in a second language. I recommend this  program to any homeschool family considering adding French to their curriculum.

My girls have not learned any French at all before this year and they are enjoying and retaining what they are learning. I believe this is because of the multisensory approach.  No matter whether the child is a visual, audio, or kinesthetic learner, this program provides for their needs.  Their main learning style is fed and then reinforced by the other activities.  For instance, my 13 year old is very much a visual learner, so seeing the people on the video is what teaches her best, however. What she has learned is reinforced by hearing them speak and by writing what she's learned. I think you will have great success with this program!

Greatly disappointed with the twaddle of competitive curriculums with hopeful promises, we stumbled upon French Essentials. Lessons are well planned,  with guaranteed step-by-step details for the parent/student, and colorful illustrations grace every page. Video clips are a breeze to locate for each lesson, and feature a nice visual variety for both watching, and participating in. As a mother to many, it is important for me to have a simple, yet thorough approach, allowing for the motivation to continue, without leaving anyone behind from confusion or lack of understanding. This course has been uniquely created, and provides an outstanding value for the dollar. I highly recommend this course.
